Meet Hilton Israelson, D.D.S., P.A. Periodontist in Richardson, TX
Dr. Hilton Israelson is a periodontist, a dentist who specializes in treating the soft tissues and bone surrounding the teeth and in placing dental implants. He has been providing periodontal services to the residents of Greater Dallas since 1981.
Dr. Israelson is skilled and experienced in all aspects of periodontics. In addition to private practice, he has been an educator to other dentists for over 40 years, and has participated in numerous periodontal research studies. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, the highest status awarded to a periodontist for knowledge and clinical expertise.
A passion for helping people, along with his brother's example led him to become a periodontist. "My older brother became a dentist and I saw how fulfilling his work with patients was, so I decided to follow his path," he says. "I am honored to be able to help my patients improve their quality of life by improving their oral function and the aesthetics of their smile."
Dr. Israelson's philosophy is to provide the same, excellent care to his patients that he would wish to receive himself. Our patients comment on his kind nature, and how he puts them at ease by fully explaining what will happen in their procedures and answering their questions. They note how precise and gentle he is when giving treatment, and how this inspires confidence.
Dr. Israelson has kept on top of the latest technical developments in periodontics through regular attendance in postgraduate continuing education classes.
In addition to serving his patients, Dr. Israelson has a long-standing passion for teaching. From 1977 to February 1979, he was a clinical instructor in periodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. From 1979 to 1989, Dr. Israelson was part of the faculty at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry (formally Baylor College of Dentistry) as assistant clinical professor and from 1989 to 2000 he served as an associate clinical professor in the Department of Periodontics.
Outside of the dental school, Dr. Israelson is part of a team of practitioners that teach dentists how to create well-fitting and aesthetic replacement teeth for patients receiving dental implants. He also runs a study club for local dentists.
